Terms of Service
RT Image Matching Trainer is the name of an educational software product, not a separate business or legal entity. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of its website, application, cases, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is provided and operated by Craig Utter ("we", "us", or "our"). By clicking an acceptance control, creating an account, or accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Educational simulation only. The Service is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and must not be used to plan, verify, make decisions about, or deliver actual patient care. Use qualified supervision, your institution's approved systems, and current clinical policies for real work.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to access or use the Service, create or maintain an account, or participate in a leaderboard. A parent or guardian cannot consent to use on behalf of a person under 18. By creating or using an account, you confirm that you are at least 18. We do not ask for your date of birth.
Provide accurate account information, keep your credentials confidential, and promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account unless applicable law provides otherwise. You may not sell, transfer, or share an account or use another person's account without permission.
2. What the Service provides
The Service simulates radiation-therapy image-matching and treatment-room workflows for study and skills practice. It simplifies real equipment and workflows. It does not replace formal education, qualified clinical supervision, manufacturer instructions, institutional procedures, or professional judgment. It does not award continuing-education credit, professional certification, licensure, or proof of clinical competency.
Training imagery comes from research collections described by their publishers as de-identified and made available under open licences, together with synthetic or computer-generated teaching content. Sources, licences, attributions, and modifications are listed on the Image credits page. Simulated offsets, corrections, treatment values, plans, and scenarios are fictional or altered for teaching.
The Service does not provide a feature for uploading patient records or images. Do not enter or send protected health information, identifiable patient information, confidential employer information, or other sensitive personal data through account fields, feedback, or support email.
3. Beta status, availability, and saved progress
The Service is in beta. We may add, change, suspend, or remove cases, scoring, features, access levels, or the Service itself. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility, or any service level. Training progress, scores, achievements, preferences, and leaderboard standings may be corrected, migrated, or reset when formats or scoring change. Keep your own export if you need a personal record; the Service is not a records-management or credentialing system.
4. Free beta access and legacy billing
- A free account is required to open the trainer, access all currently public beta cases, and save progress. No card is required.
- We do not currently offer or accept new purchases, donations, tips, subscriptions, crowdfunding contributions, or recurring support payments. We may introduce pricing prospectively in the future, but we will update the website and these Terms before accepting a new payment.
- If your account shows a legacy supporter subscription, the disclosures shown when it was purchased continue to apply. You may manage or cancel it through the account controls. Contact us promptly about a duplicate, mistaken, or unauthorized legacy charge; mandatory cancellation, withdrawal, and refund rights remain unaffected.
5. Licence to use the Service
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for lawful personal study and educational instruction. Educators may share a link to the Service with a class and display the Service during instruction. This licence does not permit you to sell access, operate a competing hosted copy, remove notices or attribution, or commercially exploit our original Service content without written permission.
6. Openly licensed and third-party material
Our licence above applies only to rights we control. Research datasets, images, fonts, software libraries, trademarks, and other third-party material remain subject to their own terms and licences. Nothing in these Terms restricts rights you independently receive under an open licence or rights such as fair use or another legal exception. If you reuse openly licensed material, you are responsible for following its attribution, notice, share-alike, or other conditions. See Image credits.
7. Acceptable use
You may not, and may not help another person to:
- use the Service for clinical decisions, actual patient treatment, unlawful activity, harassment, fraud, or infringement;
- submit patient information, PHI, credentials, payment-card data, or other sensitive information in free-text fields or support messages;
- bypass access controls, probe for vulnerabilities without written authorization, interfere with the Service, introduce malware, or access another account;
- use automated means to scrape, bulk-download, overload, or extract protected Service assets, except as permitted by law or a separately applicable open licence; or
- misrepresent affiliation, endorsement, results, credentials, or the educational simulator as a validated clinical system.
8. Feedback
If you send suggestions or other feedback, do not include confidential information or patient data. You grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, adapt, and incorporate that feedback into the Service without compensation or attribution. This does not transfer ownership of your personal information, which remains handled under the Privacy Policy.
9. Intellectual property and trademarks
Except for third-party and openly licensed material, the Service's software, design, text, graphics, and educational content are owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
This is an independent educational project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any equipment manufacturer. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only where needed for factual identification.
10. Third-party services and links
The Service relies on or links to third parties, including account, hosting, storage, payment, email, and browser speech-recognition providers. Their services and content are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control. Links do not imply endorsement.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. By using the Service, you acknowledge that policy. New training profiles start with public leaderboard participation on under a stable pseudonymous alias. You can turn participation off in Settings at any time, which requests removal of your rows. Showing your first name and last initial remains off unless you separately enable it.
12. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, OR RESULTS. We do not warrant that the Service is error-free, secure, uninterrupted, clinically accurate, or suitable for any professional, educational-assessment, or patient-care purpose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In that case, the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law, and non-waivable consumer rights remain in effect.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOST DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, OR OPPORTUNITY; OR LOSS ARISING FROM CLINICAL OR PROFESSIONAL RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
Subject to the paragraph below, our total aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) US $100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or statutory right that cannot lawfully be limited. These limitations apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify us against a third-party claim, damage, or reasonable expense arising from your intentional unlawful use of the Service, your material breach of Section 7, or content you submit that infringes another person's rights. We will give reasonably prompt notice and allow you to control the defence with qualified counsel, subject to our right to participate. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault by us or imposes a non-monetary obligation on us without our written consent. This section does not apply where prohibited by law.
15. Suspension, termination, and account closure
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the Service, investigate suspected abuse, comply with law, or address a material breach. We may terminate access for a material or repeated breach, ordinarily after notice and an opportunity to cure when appropriate. We may discontinue the Service as described in Section 3.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account through the account controls (if available) or by contacting us. Account closure ends your licence and may delete saved progress and public leaderboard entries as described in the Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including ownership, feedback, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, governing law, and general terms — survive.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice by email, an in-product message, a site notice, or another appropriate method, except when an immediate change is needed for law, security, or abuse prevention. The notice will state when the new Terms take effect. We may request renewed assent when appropriate. Using the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law and consumer rights
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. This choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections or courts available under the law where you live. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally; this does not shorten a legal deadline or require you to waive any right.
18. General terms
These Terms and the policies they incorporate are the entire agreement about the Service and replace prior agreements on that subject. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the rest remains effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, sale, or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law. We are not responsible for delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Headings are for convenience only.
