Choose a task for a short walkthrough. On a phone, use the Guide menu below. Examples are fictional; reading a guide never creates records or starts an attempt.
Join a class
You need a free signed-in account and the class code supplied by your instructor.
Open My classroom and enter the code under Join a class.
Check the preview: class name, term, instructor, and description. Confirm only if this is your section. If instructor approval is required, wait for admission before work becomes available.
Use Assignments, Daily challenges, Live Lab, Feedback, or Updates to choose your task. On a phone, use the Classroom area menu. Use Class to select one section or see all your classes.
Your assigned work and daily challenge attempts are visible to you and authorized teaching staff. You choose separately whether to share a daily challenge result with classmates. Independent practice and personal training history remain private to you.
Complete an assignment
Each module contains an ordered sequence of simulation steps.
Open Assignments → To do. Select a class if you have more than one.
Expand View details to read directions, opening/due date, time limit, and remaining attempts. Assignments stay compact until you open their details; active attempts stay expanded even when you change class filters. Student-specific adjustments appear in your effective limits.
Choose Start case when ready. Starting creates a timed attempt; leaving the screen does not pause the server clock.
Use Practice without submitting for an untimed rehearsal that does not count toward the assignment. The matching screen labels it Practice · not submitted. Reset match clears your adjustments; the current scenario stays fixed.
Complete the assigned simulation. Return to Classroom to see the outcome and the next available step.
Future work is in Upcoming; an empty To do view links there when work is scheduled. Show all classes appears when another class has work in the current view. Completed work and past classes remain available through their filters. On phones, use Show beside the Assignments heading. Class information holds resources and privacy details; Tools holds Refresh, guides, and calendar export.
Choose Hide assignment on a completed, past-due or closed module to tidy your own list, even if it is incomplete. Use Show hidden in the same filter, then Restore assignment, to bring it back. Results and feedback stay available in Feedback, including after you hide the assignment. Active attempts and revisions still open for submission stay visible. Reopening or extending unfinished work makes it visible again.
Resume or review an attempt
If an attempt is still active, use Resume case on its assignment row. The timer continues during disconnection.
If time or attempts have run out, read the recorded status. Ask your instructor about a retry or access adjustment; refreshing cannot create extra attempts.
Open Feedback, then choose Read feedback or View history beside a case. Submitted work remains available here after an assignment is completed or hidden; you can also open Review history from its assignment details.
Detailed replay and observation rubrics appear only when your instructor releases them. Full Treatment outcomes are reported by the simulator.
Training feedback is not a clinical competency credential.
Try a daily challenge
Each classroom has automatic daily registration practice. Your instructor can change or pause its rotation. Daily challenges are optional and do not affect grades or required assignment completion.
Open Daily challenges in Classroom. On a phone, choose Daily challenges in the Classroom area menu. Select your class, or choose Open challenges beside it.
Check the case, closing time, time limit, and remaining attempts. Choose Start challenge when ready. The timer continues if you leave or disconnect. Use Resume attempt to return to active work.
Read your result summary to see which alignment components met the simulator tolerances and what to review next. Open Alignment by axis for detail, Review my attempts for private history, or Try again while time and attempts remain. Your best accepted match stays available.
Open the leaderboard named for your institution and class. To share, select Show my best result to this class. Only classmates see your daily alias, rank, translation, and rotation. Other classes in the same institution have separate boards. Your name and detailed attempts stay private.
Open Previous days → View day to revisit a challenge. Choose Today to return to the current day.
What happens next: Each day has a shared case and starting setup. Your instructor can review your attempts whether or not you share on the leaderboard.
Sharing, ranking, and access
Sharing starts unchecked each day, with a new daily alias. Choose Remove my result to withdraw from that day’s board while keeping your private attempt history. Your best accepted match is ranked by its largest error relative to the case tolerance. Equal accuracy shares a rank; speed and attempts do not break ties.
If the class has no challenge yet, read the opening or paused status. Finish or resume any other active attempt before starting this day. Ask your instructor about extra time, attempts, or an extended deadline. If you have an extension for a previous day, open that day to use it. A hidden leaderboard leaves your own result available.
Sign in with the account enrolled in your section. Open Live Lab in Classroom, or follow the instructor’s join link.
Choose Join lab. A single-case lab opens as ungraded practice; a linked module keeps its normal assignment limits. If the case cannot load after you join, choose Retry opening case. Your recorded join is kept.
Use the live controls to request help or update your status. Instructor instructions appear in the session. The help status tells you when teaching staff are assisting and when the request is resolved.
For a case lab, choose Submit match when your alignment is ready. After saving, wait for the instructor to reveal feedback, then choose Review Match to see the remaining corrections. Some labs release feedback immediately after submission. If saving fails, use Retry submission; your match stays in place. A new scenario starts with feedback locked again. Only the instructor can choose New class scenario; Reset match clears your adjustments and keeps the shared setup. The instructor sees class averages and can download a private report containing your first and latest submitted offsets; no screen capture is uploaded. Review Match alone does not submit. If an exit question appears, save your answer for the instructor before the lab ends. Leave the session when finished. Your presence is not a grade.
The separate class display uses anonymous station labels and group results. Individual results appear in the private instructor report.
Set up a section
Start with one class. You can assign a single case as soon as the section exists.
Open My classes → Create a section. Enter its name, term, and optional description.
Choose the class to open Overview. My classes also links directly to pending joins, live labs and results. Use its archive filter to find earlier classes.
Open Students → Invite students & join settings and copy the invitation. Share it through your usual class channel.
Choose Assign a case for immediate work, or Plan weeks to prepare a teaching schedule.
What happens next: The section holds its own roster, assignments, daily challenges, results, and live labs.
More to know
My classes, Teaching library and Institution are the main workspaces. Plan future weeks in Weekly planner; manage created work in Assignments → Required work. On phones, use the labeled Workspace and View selectors. Live Lab is optional.
Give one case to the whole section or selected active students, without a weekly plan.
From Overview or Assignments, choose Assign a case and select the case.
Choose Whole section or Selected students. Select the intended students if needed.
Review opening and due dates. The starting choice opens now and is due in seven days; you can schedule it later or remove the deadline. Expand More options for the title, directions, and limits.
Read the audience and schedule summary, then choose Assign case or Schedule case. Use View assignment after confirmation.
What happens next: The assignment appears for its intended students and opens at the chosen time.
More to know
Future members receive whole-section work only. Selected-student assignments retain their selected audience. If a response is interrupted, Retry checks the same request rather than creating another assignment. Unsaved form content stays in this tab; changing accounts clears it.
Prepare cases in private, then explicitly schedule finished weeks.
Open Weekly planner. Choose a week using Previous, Next, or the Week selector.
Choose Add cases, select cases, and review the automatic assignment title. Directions and limits are optional.
Check each module’s due date. Choose Change beside it for a custom deadline, or Use week default to reset it. Week settings changes the week’s default; custom dates stay unchanged. Use Remove case inside an assignment, or Remove from week beside it to remove the whole assignment. Removing its last case removes the assignment too. Draft changes save automatically; scheduled removals need review and confirmation. Opened work stays protected.
Choose Schedule week, review the exact dates and student access, then choose Confirm schedule. Use All weeks for bulk review.
What happens next: Scheduled work appears for students and opens automatically. Saving a draft alone never assigns it.
More to know
Use Edit schedule for calendar dates; scheduled weeks retain their dates. No teaching marks a break. For scheduled deadlines, choose Review due dates, then Update due dates. Once work has opened or a student has started, deadlines can only be extended. Existing attempts, results, and individual student extensions are preserved. Content changes are blocked after access begins. Previous schedule versions remain available. Resolve conflicts using the displayed reload/retry action; unsaved changes are retained in the current tab.
Teaching library keeps course plans, modules and lab sequences ready to reuse.
Open Teaching library and choose Course plans, Modules or Lab sequences. You can also create content directly in Weekly planner.
To save planner work, choose Save module for reuse under Assignment options, Save week for reuse under Week settings, or Save course for reuse under Saved content.
Review Use with class before using a course plan or lab sequence. Choose Use in planner for a course, or use a lab sequence to prepare that class’s Live Lab. Only classes you are authorized to use are listed.
Review copied content and destination dates before scheduling. In a planner, Add cases → Use saved content copies a module into that week. Saved content → Manage saved content opens the independent library with Back to weekly planner.
What happens next: The section has its own editable copy. Editing it does not change the saved source or other sections.
More to know
Copies contain teaching content, not student records. Empty private weeks remain saveable, but teaching weeks need cases before scheduling.
Start the session, teach with the simulator, then end with a recap.
Open your section’s Live Lab and expand Start a lab. Select a case or an eligible open assignment. Choose whether matching feedback waits for your reveal or appears after submission. Session options holds optional naming, duration, difficulty, instructions, and saved sequences. In Teaching library → Lab sequences, start from a 15/30/45-minute template and add each case’s objective, student question, time estimate, and private notes.
Choose Start lab to open the teaching workspace. For an existing session, choose Teach lab. Use Copy join link for enrolled students.
Match interactively in your ungraded demonstration. Open Students & tools to see who joined, take or resolve help requests, and review submitted work. The current round shows its objective and question; private notes stay in the staff panel. Choose Reveal feedback when the class is ready to review submitted matches. Teaching tools holds case changes, messages, extra time, and an optional exit question to ask before ending.
Use Class display for a separate projector window with room status, an explicit demonstration snapshot, or an anonymous class debrief.
Choose Teaching tools → End lab to compare every saved round. Use Read exit answers to open private responses. Select cases and choose Plan follow-up to create a private planner week; review its dates and case settings before releasing it. Older labs remain under Session recaps.
What happens next: The recap records participation and unresolved help separately from assessment.
More to know
2D and CBCT/MR case labs share the starting scenario; your adjustments affect only your demonstration. Full Treatment uses an independent fictional workflow. Linked assignments retain students’ normal access, timers, attempts, and grading while your selected step is an ungraded example. Saved case sequences are optional under Teaching library → Lab sequences; review Use with class before preparing the lab. Class display removes private names and individual results; anonymous debriefs require at least three learners on the same scenario. To rehearse with two accounts, use separate browser profiles and enroll the student account in the section.
Find a student’s work and give feedback without losing your place. For daily practice, choose View challenge results under Assignments → Daily challenges; it opens All attempts with the daily activity filter selected.
Open Results. Choose Assignments or Live Labs. Assignments opens first. Choose an assignment, find a student, or filter to Needs review. Student progress and All attempts are separate Results views.
Choose View results. Move between cases and students in the review window; drafts stay in this page. Check the recorded outcome; use Results for residuals and history or Images to load a reconstruction.
Open Observation & feedback. Write feedback and choose Save feedback & mark reviewed. Feedback is visible to this student.
Record a rubric if needed. Release the rubric or Check Match replay separately under Student review access. Mark reviewed without changing the outcome, or close review to return to the same list.
For a lab, choose the session and scenario to compare class averages. Download class PDF saves a summary and each participant’s first and latest results. Module CSV and print reports are under More. Load images before Print attempt report if you want reconstructed views included.
What happens next: Saved feedback becomes available to the student. Rubrics and replay remain private until released.
More to know
Observers cannot save feedback or change access. Reconstructions use recorded corrections and current case assets, not student screenshots. Full Treatment retains a simulator-reported outcome. A granted retry does not rewrite the original result. Targeted follow-up is a repeat of the same case; broader case assignment starts from Assign a case.
Sign in and open the Instructor workspace. If access is not enabled, complete the educational-role request.
Read the status on the same page. Use Check status while awaiting a decision.
Once approved, open Classroom and Institution using your existing sign-in. No additional identity check is required.
If you received a teaching-team code instead, use Accept staff invite. It grants only the named section role.
What happens next: An approved request or teaching-team invitation exposes the tools permitted for your role.
More to know
Only the site owner manages instructor requests. Institution affiliation, email domains, and section invitations do not grant global access. Tools → Site administration is owner-only and still requires two-step verification.
Give students a useful welcome and relevant resources.
Open Section settings → Customize student page.
Arrange or hide Welcome, This week’s focus, Resources, and Instructor contact. Add up to eight HTTPS links in four named groups.
Write your own weekly focus or follow open Ready weeks. Choose Preview and inspect Desktop, Mobile, and the example student states.
Choose Publish to this section to share the content. If you return later, choose Resume draft or Discard saved draft before continuing.
What happens next: Students open Class information to read your published blocks, resources, and class details on desktop or phone.
More to know
Changes save as a private draft for 30 days. Discard changes restores the published version. If another editor publishes first, reload the saved version before applying your retained changes. Copy from another section uses one of your published pages as a private draft. Publication history can restore one of the last 20 versions into a draft; preview and publish it to apply. The institution’s shared identity remains separate.
Review the school identity associated with your approved teaching access.
Open Institution → Profile. Profile editing is available only to authorized editors.
Edit the school identity under Profile and welcome, contact and links under Shared resources. Switching tabs keeps the same private draft. Use a PNG or JPEG logo up to 128 KB.
Preview the student experience, then choose Publish.
Use Publication history → Use version as draft to restore a previous version; review and publish it explicitly.
What happens next: Published school identity and resources appear for the linked sections.
More to know
Institution → Program notices lets you choose exact recipient classes, review the audience and publish a program notice. Only classes you can send updates to with that institution label are offered. The site owner manages school assignments, profile editors and application domains in Tools → Site administration. Labels and domains never grant roster or results access. Section settings controls the school label for an owned section.
Invite students and review enrollment without mixing in teaching-team administration.
Open your section’s Students view. Expand Invite students & join settings.
Copy the invitation while the full join code is visible. Turn on approval if you want to review requests before admission.
Choose Review requests when students are waiting. Use Admit or Decline beside each name.
Search the roster or change the status filter; use Clear filters to return to active students. View results always opens that student’s assigned work.
What happens next: Admitted students can see the work assigned to them, including upcoming work.
More to know
Only the code ending remains after refresh. Replace code invalidates the previous invitation. More → Remove ends section membership; recorded work remains available to authorized staff. Duplicate display names remain distinguished. Teaching-team invitations belong in Section settings.
Find existing work and manage its schedule, results, or student access. For optional automatic practice, use Manage daily challenges.
Open Assignments → Required work. Search by title and use the status filter to find current, draft, scheduled, closed, or archived work. Clear filters returns to current work.
Check the audience, dates, and completion shown on the row. Expand Details & progress for directions, cases, and full activity.
Choose Results to review this assignment. Use More → Preview to inspect student-facing details.
Open More for the available status action or Student access to adjust an eligible student’s access. Review and save the adjustment.
Choose Archive on the assignment row to remove it from current class work. Review the confirmation: archiving closes the assignment and ends active attempts, while recorded results remain. To bring it back, select Archived in the status filter and choose Restore. It returns closed; reopen it separately when ready.
What happens next: The existing assignment stays attached to its section and recorded results.
More to know
Published work is closed or archived rather than deleted. Drafts can be edited or deleted. Student access adjustments are additive and do not change the underlying case tolerance. Assign again on selected-student work opens a new direct assignment for review.
Daily challenges are automatically on for new and existing classrooms that have no saved rotation. Defaults use standard difficulty, five minutes, three attempts, and a private class leaderboard. The class planner’s timezone is used when available; otherwise the rotation uses UTC. Saved rotations and instructor pauses remain in place.
Select your section and open Assignments → Daily challenges. On a phone, choose Assignments in the section’s View menu. Read Class activity for participation and alignment components to revisit.
To customize the rotation, open Rotation and leaderboard settings → Edit rotation. The section owner or a co-instructor can make changes.
In Cases, select the 2D / 2D and CBCT / MR cases you want to rotate through. Choose Continue to rules.
In Rules, choose the difficulty, time limit in seconds, attempts each day, and Class timezone. Set First full day, or leave it blank to start on the next full day in that timezone.
Choose Review schedule. Check the first case, exact opening and closing times, limits, and case order. Select Make the private leaderboard visible if you want the class board available. Each learner still chooses separately whether to share.
Choose Schedule changes. Today’s case and rules stay fixed; reviewed changes start on the displayed future day. Students find the activity in Classroom → Daily challenges.
What happens next: The class gets a new challenge each day in its timezone, with a shared case, starting setup, and daily rules. You do not need to publish each day. Required assignments and grades stay separate.
Change or pause the rotation
Use Edit rotation, review the new schedule, and choose Schedule changes. Reviewed edits apply to a future full day; today’s case and rules stay fixed. Pause daily challenges blocks new starts while issued attempts can finish. Resume daily challenges keeps an existing day’s case and setup.
Hide leaderboard hides the class board while practice remains available. Show private leaderboard restores it. Learners share under daily aliases and can withdraw their result. Their names, detailed attempts, and individual access adjustments stay private. See the learner walkthrough for the sharing choice and accuracy ranking.
Review results and adjust student access
Class activity summarizes current students, accepted matches, active attempts and the axes outside tolerance in their latest recorded alignment for the selected day. These teaching-team-only totals include learners who did not share a leaderboard result. Choose View challenge results to open the section’s All attempts view with Activity → Daily challenges · ungraded selected.
Use Adjust student access for extra time, attempts, or an extended deadline. For an earlier challenge, open Previous challenge days, select the day, then adjust access. Its case and setup remain fixed. Choose Today to return to the current day. New and copied sections receive their own default rotation; customize it when needed.
Share a reminder or announcement with a clearly defined audience.
From Overview → Updates, choose Post update.
Check the selected section. Add other sections you teach only if they should receive the same message.
Enter a title and message, with an optional expiry. Review the audience shown beside the publish controls.
Choose Publish announcement. Use Back to Overview to return to daily teaching.
What happens next: The update becomes visible to the selected sections immediately and leaves the student view after expiry.
More to know
For a program notice, open Institution → Program notices, select the recipient classes, review the named audience and choose Publish program notice. Notices remain limited to selected, authorized classes carrying that school label. Institution affiliation alone does not grant section access.
Keep occasional setup and administration separate from everyday teaching.
Choose your section, then open Section settings.
Use Details to change its name, description, or school label. Use Customize student page for its welcome, weekly focus, resources, and contact details.
Expand Teaching team to invite a co-instructor, grader, or observer. Check the role description before creating the one-time invitation.
Expand Lifecycle to copy for a new term or archive the section. Review the action before confirming.
What happens next: The section keeps its own records and explicitly granted teaching-team permissions.
More to know
Archive closes teaching while keeping records reviewable; Restore reopens the section. Delete is a separate destructive action for archived sections. Copy for new term does not transfer students or results and reports skipped selected-student assignments.
